February 16,2012

I am posting today to make up for days that people took my day to post to catch up.
What did we do?
Today Ms.Lees was away so we had a substitute. For the first block we took notes on pages 47 to 53.
It had to be one of the note taking skills we learned already like the web of the cornell. If we finish the note taking, we were supposed to write a diagram comparing a woman's right in the middle ages and woman's rights right now. It was on pages 50-51 and page 53. There was another page in chapter five somewhere too, tittles 'woman's rights in late middle ages'.Majority of the people did Venn Diagrams. If we finished all of that, we start working on chapter 8 questions for  "There Will Be Wolves".
During second block we worked on the thing mentioned in the first block. When you finished everything all the work done in the the textbooks, you show your notes and diagram to the teacher and she checks your name off. near the end of the class the substitute hands back our chapter 1-5 questions for "There Will Be Wolves". The substitute told us why we got some marks like a "X"( Which was because we either did not do the questions or misunderstood it.)She also wrote down how we could make it better, like never writing down"I think..."or "In my opinion..."ever unless it asks you to.
Why we did it:
We took notes so we could study them when there is a test on the chapter and to improve our note taking skills. Understanding the differences between a woman's rights back then and now shows us not to take our rights for granted. The questions for our novels really help us understand the story and therefore deepening our knowledge about the crusades.
Knowing what we could do the questions better will greatly improve our grades for writing.
Connections:
Understanding more about the middle ages(what these entire blocks were about) really helps us when we get to  university if you study for history. The knowledge helps when you write a novel about life in the middle ages.
 Homework:
- "There Will Be Wolves" chapter 8 questions is due Friday(tomorrow)
Tips:
Having you parents check over your answers help! (Unless they do not understand or is not good in English)If the understood the what the questions was without seeing the question sheet then anybody els who knows the language could too!
